Expect crowds as it is usually visited by cruise ship excursions. This jewel includes amazing Norman Byzantine mosaics. if you go Monreale is skippable.

Cappella palatina is the royal chapel of the Norman kings on Sicily. It was commisioned by Ruggero II on 1132. Inside the chapel there are wonderful mosaic attributed to Byzantine artists.

Its a must visit in Palermo! Ticket at 14 euros for the whole castle, and gardens. Really worth it.
