Le Carbet prend sa source sur les flancs de la Soufrière et dévale avec le massif sur une dizaine de kilomètres. A trois reprises, le torrent se jette du haut de falaises impressionnantes. La troisième chute, au niveau le plus bas de la rivière, est accessible en prenant à la sortie de Capesterre la route de "Routhiers" (Guadeloupe).
